There are so many reasons to cloth diaper, though I have to admit to my main two reasons.

1. They are cute!
2. I love that my babies butt can be swaddled in soft cloth, instead of harsh plastics that suffocate her butt.

When people find out about my CD'ing, they assume it is for money or environmental concern. While that obviously comes along with it, they actually aren't the determining factor for me! Guilty as charged.

We hid some eggs with chocloate peeps around the living room. She only made it past the first egg, she was in love with the chocolate peep! Then we took her outside for some fresh air!

Okay, so the minky blueberry is not a night time diaper!! I tried it overnight and it soaked through the front of the minky, not just out the top. :| Oh well, it is a cute and soft diaper, I'll just have to use it in the daytime!

So I finally bit the bullet and broke down and got a Blueberry diaper. The minky on the outside is a nice touch! So far I havn't had any problems with it, other than that it is really fluffy!

I had so much fun reminiscing on the Cloth Diaper Whisperer I wanted to put them all in one place!

1. One time when I was changing my babies diaper, the moment I took off her dirty diaper and went to grab a clean one she proceeded to poop several large nuggets right on the changing table. That was exciting!

2. I'm sure this has happened to everyone and has several times to me so far. After taking off a poopy diaper, I placed it at the end of the changing table and then my little baby girl starts kicking frantically and gets poop all over her feet and legs! Those are always fun!

3. I don't know how I forgot about this story. I decided to take my 9 month old baby to the mall with me. I went to a clothing store and picked out some clothes to try on in a dressing room. Well, while I was in there I noticed DD had started leaking out of her CD. I didn't want to wait to change her until after I had tried things on and checked out. So, I decided to try and change her in her stroller. BAD IDEA! Getting the diaper off was the easy part, but then she started to squirm all over and up the back of the stroller. It was impossible! It was a small room without anywhere to sit or lay her, so I ended up throwing her over my shoulder and tried to put the diaper on her one handed, which is reeeally hard! She was screaming her head off, goodness knows what the people in the store were thinking. Diaper somewhat on and back in the stroller, I gave her a juice bottle and everything was fine. Never doing that again!

4. Whenever my baby had diarrhea I had to get a sample in a cup to send to the lab. Well, unfortunately she didn't poo at the doctors office, but on the way home I heard her poo grunting noises. I ended up pulling over and scraping what little of the diarrhea poo that was solid into the cup. These are things you never think of yourself doing before you have kids!

5. So I find it amazing how baby poops can define how well my day will go. When my baby poops, there is no mistaking it. She gets that strained, grunty look that is usually followed by high pitched and distressed squealing. Then there is the mad rush to the changing table to get that poop OFF her bottom! The harder the poop, the louder and longer she squeals. This morning she had three poops, very evenly spaced throughout the morning, each bigger than the last. By the time I got her calmed down from one poop, she would poop again and the process would start all over. It wasn't until after her 2pm nap that everything kind of settled down. Phew!

So my husband is out of town for the week for a business trip in Las Vegas. Lucky guy gets to stay in a suite at the Venetian. I'm jealous!! Anyway, it has been a quest the past few days keeping me and Haven occupied. Despite my declaration to eat healthier a few weeks ago, I decided to go out in the afternoons just to get out of the house and pick up dinner through a drive thru. Even though my husband usually only gets home from work about an hour before Haven goes to sleep, it really helps to have that to look forward to and have him look after her for a few minutes while I finish up on some chores.

I've managed pretty good so far! We walked around the mall for a little bit and she actually did pretty good in the stroller. I've been contemplating getting a rear facing stroller because she just doesn't like not being able to see me. I'm hoping that she is getting used to it now, cause I'd rather save that money for something else!

Funny moment of the day: We were playing with her Learning Home and I placed a shape on my head for her to grab. She proceeded to grab it and then bang it repeatedly on my forehead. ow!!

Here she is in her Ju Ju Be purse!

So Haven is now in seperation anxiety and stranger danger phase. Fun!! She starts crying when anybody starts talking to her besides me or my husband, it's so sad! I also can't leave her in the playard or playzone without her instantly screaming, it makes it hard to get anything done! Poor little girl. :)

I'm begining to dread these more and more. I don't know who dreads them more, me or Haven! She had her nine month checkup today and it was brutal. She was so upset, which makes me so sad! The doctor tells me that we're gonna have to start teaching her the word no, I don't think I'm ready for that yet. haha I know I need to start teaching her limits, but I like the parenting method of giving her another option instead.

Apparently she should be able to hold her bottle by herself. I told him Haven is very content with me holding it for her. I've tried getting her to feed herself, but she either drops the bottle or plays with it....then the moment I step in to help she drops both her arms and starts to drink. Oh well, maybe she just isn't ready yet!

I just got this in yesterday. I was anxious to try it out since it is my first pocket diaper. The two tone colors are really cute! Sizing the diaper was super easy once I figured it out and I am liking the snaps so far over velcro, since the velcro seems to wear more easily and can be a pain in the wash. I'm torn between pockets and all-in-twos, since the pockets you can't reuse, but they do seem to fit overall better and be more comfy. Maybe I'll stock up on some more pockets! :)

So my two playzone's arrived yesterday and I promptly set it up. Haven is a little overwhelmed by the amount of space at the moment, but I'm sure she'll get used to it! She loves the activity walls too. Now I just have to convince hubby to let me get more stuff to put in it! :)

So this is a preview of my diaper change area. I used to be so good with photoshop type things and the internet in my younger days, somehow I have lost my touch, or gotten lazy, either way that is why there are no arrows. :D

There are the extra soakers/doublers/cloths/diaper pad liners beneath the diaper pad. Hanging shells to dry. Cloth wipe warmer, extra shells, and so on. There is even a small little shelf for daddy disposables for when he doens't feel like messing with cloth!

When I was pregnant last year with my first baby, I thought cloth diapers sounded like a great way to save money and help the environment, although I really had no clue about them. When my baby was born, as you know, your life gets turned upside down and I completely forgot about them.

I was walking through Target one day and saw a pack of prefold cloth diapers on sale...it was like a light bulb went off in my head and I thought, "Oh yeah! I was gonna try doing cloth!" Haven was six months old at the time and so I went right home to peruse amazon for some choices.

I decided to go with the softbums diapers since they seemed to have some good reviews, and well, there's a panda on the tag!! (I love panda's) They seemed super easy since you just snap the insert in and reuse the shell. I bought enough to last me through the day and wash them at night. It is taking awhile to get my husband used to them, but I'm sure he'll come around.

I saw the Cloth Diaper Whisperer blog and it inspired me to want to try all the different types out there. My budget is tight, so my stash will probably grow slowly. :)

First post, I havn't had a blog in probably 7 or 8 years! It's amazing how busy your life can get. That's what falling in love will do to you. I stopped blogging right after I met my guy on the internet. We had a baby last year, so it has only gotten more crazy!
